- A typical cylindrical roller bearing consists of the following main components:
- Outer Ring:Usually features fixed ribs or flanges on one or both sides to provide axial guidance for the rollers.
- Inner Ring:Also typically has ribs or flanges for roller guidance. Depending on the design, the inner ring can be integral with ribs or separable (facilitating mounting).
- Cylindrical Rollers:Precision-ground cylindrical rolling elements that are the core load-carrying components. Roller length is usually slightly less than their diameter.
- Cage (Retainer):Separates the rollers evenly, prevents them from rubbing against each other, and guides them correctly within the raceways. Cage materials include steel, brass, or polymers (e.g., polyamide/nylon).

- High Radial Load Capacity:The line contact design enables them to handle significantly higher radial loads than same-sized ball bearings.
